Remington Hot Springs is my favorite kind of hot spring. This place feels like home to me, as I helped build these hot spring tubs. Rustic yet well-maintained by locals, the hot springs feature cemented tubs that incorporate local rocks, giving them a natural appearance. There are three tubs situated alongside the Kern River. These hot spring tubs are unique with their intricate stonework. There are a total of five springs at Remington, and the custom is clothing optional. Glass is not allowed.

Directions to Remington Hot Springs
From the 99 freeway out of Bakersfield, take Highway 178 to Borrel Road. Park in the dirt lot and hike down to the hot springs. The springs are situated next to the Kern River.

Accessibility to the springs is good, although the path is semi-steep, zigzagging for about 300 feet down to the Kern River.
Hot Springs Layout
The hot springs are primitive but well-developed. There are three main pools next to the river that cascade into each other. The first tub, where the hot springs source emerges, is around 106 degrees. The second tub is larger, with a temperature of about 103 degrees. The final tub measures at 100 degrees.
